Viet Nam - South Korea Festival 2024 launched in Da Nang

On Friday evening at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park, the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs and the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang jointly organised the opening ceremony of the Viet Nam - South Korea Festival 2024 that is running from August 16 -18 in Da Nang.

Attendance at the event were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, South Korean Consul General in Da Nang Kang Boo Sung and the leaders of relevant agencies and guests from South Korea.

Delivering the opening speech at the event, Vice Chairwoman Thi said that the Viet Nam - South Korea Festival in Da Nang is an important diplomatic event to promote the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Da Nang and localities and South Korean partners.

According to the Vice Chairwoman, Da Nang is an active locality in building friendly relationship and cooperation with South Koreanlocalities, organisations and enterprises in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, education, human resource and cultural exchanges.

South Korean partners have invested in many large projects in the fields of information technology, communications, high technology and automation in Da Nang. In particular, for many years, South Korea has also been Da Nang’s leading international tourist source market.

“I believe that through this festival, the cooperative relationship between Da Nang and South Korean localities and partners will be continuously expanded, and the people of the two countries will become more and more connected’, said Ms. Thi at the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that the Vietnam - Korea Festival in Da Nang is an important diplomatic event to promote the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Da Nang and Korean localities and partners.

Consul General Kang Boo Sung said that this festival event is an opportunity for Vietnamese people, and those on Da Nang in particular, to experience diverse South Korean culture such as cuisine, music, and wonderful products from South Korean businesses, thereby, promoting friendship, deep understanding and affection between South Korean and Vietnamese people.

This year’s Viet Nam - South Korea Festival is invested with many new and rich activities. Local residents and tourists can visit 60 booths introducing general information, culture and cuisine of the two countries as well as participate in playing Vietnamese and South Korean folk games; wear traditional Hanbok and Ao Dai costumes, compete in making Vietnamese and South  Korean dishes and  South Korean baseball.

Along with that, a traditional and modern art stage programme from the art troupes of the two countries also promises to bring a wonderful experience journey for those who love Vietnamese and South Korean culture.
