Da Nang software enterprises strive to increase revenue

As reported, many software enterprises across Da Nang have achieved increased revenue compared to the same period in 2023. It is assessed that the market is offering many new opportunities and enterprises are striving to exceed the 2024 revenue plan at the highest level.

Enterprises expand the market

Established in 2019, Irtech Technology Joint Stock Company in Lien Chieu District specialises in providing artificial intelligence (AI) technology solutions for enterprises for effective management. Currently, the company has five branches both at home and abroad.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung, tbe General Director, the enterprise no longer cuts staff like in the period of 2022 - 2023, and instead, it has added more human resources to meet the actual requirements. The company’s orientation is to focus on research and create pioneering digital products that many other units have not exploited.

Similarly, Mr. Ta Quoc Khanh, the Director of Jobkey Joint Stock Company in Lien Chieu District informed that since the beginning of the year, many information technology (IT) enterprises have increased recruitment of more staff to meet the needs of business expansion.

The Jobkey Company has also prospered with many new orders, expanding operations in many provinces and cities across the country. Jobkey's recruitment platform currently has more than 5,000 enterprises with more than 100,000 candidates on the system.

Meanwhile, Alpha Asimov Robotics Company Limited located in Hai Chau District recorded many positive signals when the company’s products were tested in some urban areas of Ha noi such as Ecopark, VinUni and Phenikaa, and generated good results with the advantage of 95% of the total self-handling situations.

As reported by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, the Director of the company, in the first eight months of 2024, the company’s revenue and investment capital both recorded an increase as compared to the same period in 2023.

In addition to the company's great efforts, the cited positive results were also attributed to the city’s organization of many activities benefiting technology and software companies, so Alpha Asimov Robotics received a great deal of attention from many domestic and international investment funds.

The company’s operations have also been more favourable after the National Assembly issued Law No. 36/2024/QH15 dated June 27, 2024 on road traffic order and safety; accordingly, the concept of smart transport vehicles was added to remove many bottlenecks in policies and methods of operation. The company has submitted a pilot application to the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport to commercialise popular transport robots in the future.

Continue to promote production

At the end of August, the Department of Information and Communications Technology Industry under the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications - MIC) in collaboration with the Viet Nam Association for Information Technology announced a report on the Readiness Index for the Development and Application of Information and Communications Technology in Viet Nam (ICT Index) in 2023.

Accordingly, Da Nang took the lead with 0.8485/1 point.
In terms of business activities and distribution of IT products and services, Da Nang is one of the top 5 Vietnamese localities (along with Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Thai Binh and Can Tho) accounting for 79.1% of business and distribution revenue and 69.1% of the contributions to the State budget of the whole country.

Da Nang ranked fourth in Viet Nam in terms of IT product distribution revenue of with over VND 12,677 billion. Thus, the overall ranking of Da Nang's IT industry index was the sixth position in the country with 0.1148 points. In detail, the production index was 0.0822 points (8/63 provinces and cities); the service index was 0.0245 points (8/63 provinces and cities) and the business index was 0.3607 points (2/63 provinces and cities; up 1 rank compared to 2022).

Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, the Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications, said that in the first eight months of 2024, the total revenue of the entire information and communications industry is estimated at VND 26,174 billion, reaching 66% of the plan, an increase of 8% compared to the same period in 2023.

Software export turnover was recorded at US$108 million, equal to 67% of the plan, up 11% from the same period in 2023. The growth in added value of the whole industry reached 6.77% year-on-year, contributing 0.74 percentage points to the GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) growth of the city’s whole economy.

In order to promote revenue of the information and communications industry in general and software export in particular, the city is building groups of policies and solutions, focusing on three groups of solutions on infrastructure, human resources and preferential policies; investment incentives.

With regard to infrastructure, in addition to three IT parks, the city is about to put into operation Software Park No. 2 by the end of 2024, with an expectation of attracting 6,000 employees. In addition, the city has prepared land funds and infrastructure for IT enterprises to deploy projects; international fiber optic cable network, electricity and traffic infrastructure and logistics to fully meet the requirements of IT, semiconductor and AI investors.

In terms of human resources, the city has 2.3 digital technology enterprises/1,000 people, ranking second after Ho Chi Minh City, three times higher than the national average, and the total number of digital technology human resources is about 53,000 people.

The city has 37 human resource training facilities related to the IT industry with about 5,700 graduates from the IT industry and industries related to semiconductors (electronics and telecommunications, mechatronics and automation).

At the same time, universities in the city have close cooperation with prestigious international partners from the United States, South Korea, Taiwan (China) to improve the quality and quantity of training according to international standards in the field of IT.

In particular, Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on organising the urban government model and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang is the basis for the city to build many preferential investment policies, attracting more investment in the fields of IT, semiconductors and AI in the coming time.
