The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO), in collaboration with the city branch of the Viet Nam -Germany Friendship Association and some relevant units, opened the German Beer Festival and cultural culinary exchange event on Friday evening.

This celebration is meant to mark 49 years of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Germany (September 23, 1975 – September 23, 2024)

In his remarks at the opening ceremony of the festival, Chairman of the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam - Germany Friendship Association Nguyen Huu Lai said that the festival, featuring many rich and unique activities, aimed to promote the unique cultural features of Germany to international friends and the people of Da Nang.

This also provides a platform for Vietnamese people who have lived, studied, and worked in Germany to reconnect and share their memories and feelings with the German community in Da Nang, fostering future collaborations between the people of Viet Nam and Germany, he added.

During the festival, delegates, guests and people of the two countries can join a variety of activities celebrating Germany’s cultural heritage, including international music performances, a traditional German costume contest, and competitions like ‘Best German Beer Drinker’ and ‘Most Beer Glasses Carried’.

The event takes place until September 28 at 83-85-87 Tran Phu Street, Hai Chau District from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
