A wide range of unique cultural and artistic activities will be held across Da Nang to celebrate the upcoming Christmas and New Year festive season, promising fun and memorable experiences for local dwellers and tourists.

Specifically, the Danang X’mas - New Year Festival 2025, the first of its kind in the city, will run from December 14, 2024 to January 2, 2025 with many exciting cultural and tourism activities and events.

Included will be the opening night of the X’mas - New Year Festival 2025  from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on December 20, 2024 with an art programme on the theme of Christmas and New Year 2025; a parade of 200 people dressed in Santa Claus and Snow Queen costumes; and a check-in space to celebrate Christmas and welcome in New Year 2025 from December 14, 2024 to January 2, 2025 with 3 check-in models of a light pine tree, Christmas and New Year 2025 gift boxes, and "Welcome in New Year 2025" letter set.

The Christmas - New Year 2025 market will take place from December 20, 2024 to January 2, 2025. It will have a scale of 40 booths displaying souvenirs and decorations about Christmas and New Year 2025, OCOP products, along with food stalls serving more than 100 local, regional and international dishes.

Additionally, there will be a beer festival, a BBQ space, and an art and gift programme themed "Fun with Santa Claus" from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm on December 24, 2024.

Moreover, nighttime arts performances will be held every night from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm from December 20, 2024 to January 2, 2025 at the eastern end of the Dragon Bridge and along Tran Hung Dao Street. An entertainment and experience space from December 20, 2024 to January 2, 2025 will feature exciting games, and culinary demonstration performances by famous chefs.

Notably, the Da Nang food tour campaign, and the culinary digital map and culinary tourism passport will be launched with special incentive programmes for visitors who collect enough stamps at selected culinary locations. Special arts programmes, cultural activities and festivals will be organised along both banks of the Han River.

The municipal Department of Tourism also mobilises tourism service providers (hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, supermarkets ...) to decorate according to the Christmas and New Year theme from December 1, 2024 to January 2, 2025 to create synchronisation and attract visitors.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoai An stated that the Christmas - New Year Festival in Da Nang 2025 has many unique activities to create richness and attractiveness for the series of events in Da Nang in 2024-2025. At the same time, it will contribute to creating a unique, annual festival brand of Da Nang tourism, luring more visitors to Da Nang during the low tourist season.

The festival is also an opportunity to connect and support businesses to introduce their tourism products and services, contributing to increasing the length of stay and spending of visitors.

The Department of Tourism also advised the municipal People's Committee to issue a plan to organise the festival, as well as assign departments, branches, and localities to ensure security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting, rescue operation, and food safety and hygiene in locations where festival activities will take place.
