Da Nang Publishing House wins three awards at 7th National Book Awards 2024

The Da Nang Publishing House has proudly claimed three awards, including two C prizes and one Consolation prize at the 7th National Book Awards 2024.

In particular, the C prizes have been awarded to ‘Vietnamese History Viewed from Authentic Materials’ by Chen Ching Ho (Tran Kinh Hoa), translated and compiled by Nguyen Manh Son, and ‘Why We Love’ by Hien Trang, co-published with Phanbook. Meanwhile, the Consolation prize has gone to ‘The Evolution of Knowledge’ by Jurgen Renn, translated by Tran Trong Hai Minh, introduced and edited by Nguyen Xuan Xanh, co-published with Phanbook.

The 7th National Book Awards Ceremony 2024 has been held at the Ha Noi Opera House, recognising exceptional contributions to literature and publishing. This year’s awards have included 3 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 21 C prizes, 21 Consolation prizes, and 4 Reader’s Favourite Book Awards.

The organisers noted that in 2024, 51 out of 57 publishing houses participated in the awards, an increase of 10 compared to the previous event. The submitted works covered diverse topics and formats. From over 400 entries submitted by more than 51 publishing units, the National Book Awards Council selected 58 outstanding books and series to honour at the 7th awards ceremony.

The National Book Awards is a State-level event held annually to honour books of exceptional intellectual, cultural, and aesthetic value. It recognises authors, translators, scientists, and publishing professionals, aiming to discover, preserve, and promote valuable works to a wide readership. The awards also contribute to the development of the publishing industry in line with national and global trends.
