Speaking at the press conference on Wednesday to launch the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2025 and a series of side events, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that DIFF has affirmed its position as an international-class festival, gradually contributing to making Da Nang deserve its title “Asia's Leading Festival and Events Destination”.

According to the Vice Chairwoman Thi, from just stopping at the scale of an international fireworks display competition, up to now, with the companionship of Sun Group, DIFF has not only become a prestigious playground that any international fireworks team wants to conquer, but also a "must-visit festival" every summer for friends from all over the world.

The strong ripple effect of DIFF has become an important driving force to promote local economic development and increasingly enhance the position of the city.

Mrs. Thi added that following the success of DIFF 2024, DIFF 2025 with many innovations and breakthroughs promises to open a new era of Da Nang fireworks, marking a period of even stronger development of the city.

“As the organiser of DIFF, the municipal People's Committee will direct the Department of Culture and Sports and related units to closely coordinate with Sun Group and their partners to bring a fireworks season worth waiting for domestic and international tourists. At the same time, the municipal People's Committee will continue to research and invest in further upgrading DIFF", Vice Chairwoman Thi emphasised.

According to the organisers, DIFF 2025 themed "Da Nang - The New Rising Era" will take place from May 31 - July 12. This will be the largest and longest fireworks festival with the participation of 10 teams from Viet Nam, Finland, England, Portugal, Poland, South Korea, Italy, Canada and China in 6 competition nights.

DIFF 2025 welcomes a new team from South Korea and two teams from Viet Nam. It is expected that more than 50,000 fireworks and modern performance technology will be utilised at the festival. The fireworks viewing stands will feature over 10,000 seats.

The special thing is that the ticket price of DIFF 2025 will not increase to serve tourists and locals. The organisers' invitation of a new team from Korea is expected to attract more tourists from this market.

Also at DIFF, AR technology will be integrated into the Sun Paradise Land (SPL) application, allowing visitors to experience virtual reality technology with fireworks via smartphones from anywhere. On the application, people and visitors can book tickets and receive preferential policies from the app.

This year's DIFF will not only have impressive fireworks displays but also a series of accompanying events, promising to bring visitors top-notch experiences with a combination of art, music, sports and technological innovation. Each competition night will be a vibrant live concert with the participation of famous domestic and international artists and music idols.

According to a representative of Sun Group, the format of DIFF 2025 art programme will be more youthful, vibrant and "trendy". Sun Group plans to partner with leading event organisers in Viet Nam to bring large-scale, popular music concerts, as well as cooperate with brands to organise art events combined with fireworks nights.
