The Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Hanul Danang Event and Sports Organization Company Limited opened the 2^nd edition of the Hanul Taekwondo Open Tournament in 2025 at the city’s Tien Son Sports Arena on Saturday.

The tournament provides an opportunity for athletes from Taekwondo clubs nationwide to compete and exchange with athletes from South Korea.

The tournament has the participation of nearly 500 athletes from 31 clubs in South Korea, Da Nang and other localities nationwide. The city’s clubs include Thuan Phuoc, Thanh Minh, Hong Bang, Hong Quang, Dae Seung, Hanul and Hong Gia Khanh.

The athletes compete in the male and female categories according to three age groups. At the end of the tournament, the organizing committee will award 115 sets of gold, silver and bronze medals to outstanding athletes in each competition.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Trong Thao, Taekwondo is a symbol of agility, strength and sophisticated techniques. This sport conquers the hearts of many people around the world, in which Da Nang in particular and Viet Nam in general are proud to have a strongly developed Taekwondo.

“Through this tournament, we aim to create conditions for athletes to exchange, compete, and develop their expertise, thereby promoting the development of Taekwondo. In addition, this is also an opportunity to advertise the city's tourism image to international friends” he added.
