The People's Committee of Thanh Khe District in Da Nang officially opened the 8^th edition of the Thac Gian Village Communal House Festival in 2025 on Saturday.

The Thac Gian Village Communal House Festival is held every two years. This year’s event were held on March 14 and 15 (the 15^th and 16^th days of the second lunar month).

On the opening day, some main ceremonies were organised, including a dove release ceremony, a Spring worship ceremony, an ancestors' worship ceremony, and the calligraphy and village flag contests.

Previously, such activities as the heaven and earth worship ceremony, the vigil ceremony, the spirit worship ceremony, the betel and areca tray contest, and a poetry night took place.

The Thac Gian Village Communal House was recognised as a National Architectural and Artistic Relic by the Ministry of Culture and Sports (currently known as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 2007.

Up to now, after 8 times of organisation, the Thac Gian Village Communal House Festival has become a typical and unique cultural activity, and an indispensable cultural and spiritual activity, of the villagers in Thanh Khe District.

The event also offered an opportunity for people in the district to approach the historical roots and express their gratitude to those who have contributed to the establishment and settlement of Thac Gian Village and Thanh Khe Land. This, thereby, helped promote the value of community cohesion, strengthen the spirit of solidarity, and preserve the traditional values ​​of the locality.
