Football clubs and teams have been established in many localities, agencies, units, and enterprises citywide, and maintained in a disciplined manner. In addition, a system of natural and artificial grass fields has been built to serve football clubs.
In the morning and late afternoon, the atmosphere of football practice and competition at the Dien Hong football field in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, is bustling.
Mr. Phan Cong Linh, a member of Anh Em Hoa Xuan Football Club, said “I have been passionate about football, so I have competed in the grassroots football tournaments for more than 10 years. This is a sport suitable for many ages, bringing health, flexibility, and a comfortable spirit. The club members and I maintain 3 training sessions/week. On average, the club competes in a tournament every 3 months".
To maintain activities and improve the quality of the football movement, many tournaments are regularly organised by agencies, units and localities. At the Tuyen Son Sports Village, after more than a month of exciting and dramatic competition, the 2025 Da Nang Parents' Football Tournament took place successfully. The tournament marked the beginning of a series of cooperation activities between the municipal Study Encouragement Association and the Sky-Line education system. Its aim was to promote sportsmanship, improve health, and build an active learning community in the city in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025).
The tournament gathered 240 male parents from 12 football teams of 12 schools in the city including Trung Vuong Junior High School, Tay Son Junior High School, Ly Thuong Kiet Junior High School (Hai Chau District); Huynh Thuc Khang Junior High School, Chu Van An Junior High School (Thanh Khe District); Nguyen Van Linh Junior High School, Nguyen Khuyen Junior - Senior High School (Cam Le District); Ngo Thi Nham Junior High School, Luong The Vinh Junior High School (Lien Chieu District); Le Do Junior High School (Son Tra District); Nguyen Phu Huong Junior High School (Hoa Vang District) and Sky-Line Education System.

The Association maintains the organisation of the tournament to contribute to spreading the football movement in the city.
Aside from organising many tournaments, Da Nang is chosen to host national-level football tournaments. Recently, the qualifying round of the 2025 Viet Nam Youth Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup in the Central Coast region took place at the Military Zone 5 Stadium.

After a period of intense competition, the Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports and the Hue University overcame their opponents to enter the final round.
Notably, the National Seven-a-side Football Cup was organized in Da Nang for 3 consecutive years (2022, 2023, 2024). It is expected that in 2025, the city will continue to be the host of this tournament.
According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Trong Thao, many quality football tournaments are the driving force to spread the football movement citywide. To promote the football movement, the city continues to organise more tournaments, thereby contributing to propagating and mobilising people, especially the young generation, to continue to effectively implement the campaign "All people exercise to follow the example of great Uncle Ho".
