Over 500 athletes compete in Da Nang Open Pickleball Tournament
The Da Nang Open Pickleball Tournament for VTV8 Cup kicked off at the Tuyen Son Sports Village on Friday morning.

The sports event was jointly organised by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the Da Nang Pickleball Federation, and the Viet Nam Television Center in the Central - Highlands Region (VTV8).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Council cum Chairman of the Da Nang Pickleball Federation Tran Phuoc Son said that Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the city. This kind of sports can spread more widely in the future if many large-scale, quality tournaments are organised.
The Da Nang Open Pickleball Tournament for VTV8 Cup is a large-scale tournament to celebrate the establishment of the Da Nang Pickleball Federation, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the city (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025).

Through the tournament, the organisers hope to create a playground for athletes to exchange, compete and improve skills, as well as promote the development of the Pickleball movement in particular and physical education and sports in the city in general.
Lasting until March 23, the tournament sees the participation of more than 500 athletes from clubs, departments, and members at home and abroad. The athletes compete in 8 events including men's doubles; mixed doubles; women's doubles 4.5; mixed doubles 5.5; men's doubles 6.5; mixed doubles 7.3; mixed doubles of officials, civil servants, and public employees; and VTV8 guest doubles.
After the opening ceremony, the matches took place in an exciting and attractive atmosphere, attracting a large number of fans.
