The 28th edition of the Da Nang Newspaper Open Road Race - Armed Forces Run took place at the Tien Son Sport Arena on Saturday in an exciting and fierce atmosphere with the participation of more than 800 athletes from 82 agencies, units, localities, armed forces units stationed in the city and 14 professional athlete delegations nationwide.

In his opening speech, Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of the Da Nang Newspaper, Head of the Organising Committee of the event Hua Van Hai thanked the city leaders for their kind support and close guidance for the tournament. This is a source of encouragement for the Da Nang Newspaper Open Road Race - Armed Forces Run to be carried out smoothly and successfully. Thanks to that, the event not only contributes significantly to the development of high-performance sports in Da Nang, but also creates great motivation for the physical training movement among all classes of people, cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, students, pupils, soldiers of the armed forces in this central coastal city.

This tournament is organised annually by Da Nang Newspaper in coordination with the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports, the municipal Military Command, the municipal Police Department and the municipal Department of Education and Training. This is one of the large-scale, long-standing traditional sports playgrounds in the city.

The growth of the tournament, in addition to the efforts exerted by the organising committee, the city's leaders have sent support and created the best conditions for the Da Nang Newspaper to turn this tournament into a trusted playground, a festival for the running community.

In order to improve the quality of the tournament and create more spread with the physical training movement in the whole society, every year, the organising committee has made appropriate changes, in addition to receiving many valuable comments and praise from the participants. The athletes came to the tournament in an excited mood, competing with strong determination and making every effort, aiming for the highest achievements.

Maintaining and constantly enhancing the quality of the tournament over the past 30 years has been the main mission to constantly develop the movement in each stage and period, thereby meeting the passion, love and increasing needs of the people.

This year, the tournament has many meanings, being an activity to celebrate the 95^th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang Party Organisation and the 50^th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang; the 50^th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day.

In the 28^th editon, the Da Nang Newspaper Open Road Race - Armed Forces Run 2025 attracted the participation of more than 800 athletes from 82 agencies, units, localities, armed forces units located in the city and 14 professional athlete delegations from units and localities across the country, including the Da Nang Sports and Gymnastics Training Centre, the National Youth Athletes Training Centre, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Phu Yen, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Lang Son provinces and Hue city. Compared to 2024, this year's tournament attracted 2 more professional athlete teams.

The organizing committee maintained a variety of competition events for athletes including: individual, group and the whole unit with distances of 1.5km, 2km, 3km, 4km, 5km and 7km; and competes by blocks, including: junior high school; senior high school; agencies, enterprises, schools and amateur athletes; districts; militia (wards, communes); self-defense agencies, enterprises, local troops; main force troops and professional athletes.
