The central and highlands regional qualifying round of the Viet Nam Robot Contest (Robocon) 2014 is being held from 3 - 5 April at the Physical Education Centre of the Da Nang University of Technology (DUT).  The opening ceremony of the event was shown on VTV Da Nang on Thursday morning (3 April).  The closing ceremony will also be broadcast live, on the same channel on Saturday afternoon.

The regional qualifying round sees the participation of 20 teams from 5 colleges and universities in the central region and highlands.  They are Da Nang’s universities of Technology, Duy Tan and Dong A, Nha Trang’s Telecommunications University, and the Ha Tinh College of Technology.

Under the competition’s rules, the teams will compete in a round-robin format.  The winning teams will advance to the national final round, which will take place in Nha Trang between 5 and 11 May. 

On Tuesday morning, the teams attended the official draw ceremony of the contest.

The final round of the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2014 (ABU Robocon) will take place in India in August.
