Da Nang’s Dong Du Japanese Language Centre at 167 Le Loi Street celebrated its 5th birthday on Sunday evening.

The centre now has 25 Japanese classes, with a total of about 500 learners of all ages, at different course levels: beginner, elementary, intermediate, upper intermediate, advanced and proficient.

Over its 5 years of operation, the centre has provided classes exclusively for those who are working for Vietnamese companies cooperating with Japan or Japanese companies operating in the city.  In addition, a number of exchange activities and cultural and cuisine festivals have been organised for the centre’s learners to help them learn more about Japanese cultural values.   The centre has also cooperated with the city’s Union of Friendship Organisations to organise apprenticeships and home-stay programmes in the city for Japanese students.  Thanks to this, bilateral cultural exchanges with Japan have been further enhanced.

To uphold its role as a bridge in fostering bilateral ties between the 2 countries, the centre will be improving its teaching methods, management systems and the quality of training programmes in the years ahead.  Additionally, a human resource consultancy centre and a technical secondary school, specialising in training for production sectors, will be established in the city.  This will help to increase the application of advanced technologies used in Japan into the city’s production activities.
