On Monday evening, Vuong Nguyen Thuy Duong and Le Thi Nguyet Hang from Da Nang’s Le Quy Don Senior High School for Gifted Students received a warm welcome home at Da Nang International Airport from leaders of the city’s Department of Education and Training, the school’s Management Board, their teachers and their classmates.

Duong won a silver medal at the 55^th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Cape Town, South Africa, which was held from 3 to 13 July.  Meanwhile, Hang received the same medal at the 25^th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held in Bali, Indonesia between 6 and 13 July.

According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training, a total of 6 Vietnamese students won medals at this year’s IMO contest - 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.  At the IBO, all of the 4 Vietnamese students competing won medals - 1 silver and 3 bronze.
