VNPT International, a member company of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT), opened a representative office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on July 7.

Addressing the event, VNPT Chairman Pham Long Tran said the move is part of the company’s strategy to expand its market.

Over recent years, VNPT International has reached out to foreign markets such as Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar, helping Vietnam become one of the key telecom suppliers in Southeast Asia, according to Tran.

He added that the establishment of the office also reflects the close ties between VNPT/VNPT International and Cambodian partners, and demonstrates the former’s commitment to providing international telecoms services for the Cambodian market.

On the occasion, VNPT International signed a number of trade deals providing international private leased circuit (IPLC), IPLC transit and IP Port transit services for Cambodia’s telecom partners such as Telecom Cambodia, Telcotech and Mekongnet.
