The 2014 Robot Contest for senior high school pupils is taking place at Da Nang’s Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School from 12 - 14 August.  The event is being co-organised by the city's Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology, the local Youth Union, and the Ho Nghinh Fund for Scientific and Technological Creativity.

This year’s contest, which has “Viet Nam's Sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Archipelagos, New Creativity” as its theme, sees the participation of 21 teams from 19 senior high schools in the city, and from 2 in Quang Nam Province.

Under the competition’s rules, the participating teams are divided into 4 groups, and they compete in a round-robin format.

The closing and awards ceremony will be held on the afternoon of 14 August at the same venue.  The winners of the first prize will receive 10 million VND in cash, whilst 5 million VND and 3 million VND in cash prizes will be given to the teams finishing in second and third places respectively.  A commendation prize of 1 million VND will also be awarded.
