Local pupil wins silver medal at 26th IBO

Le Thi Nguyet Hang from Year 12 of Da Nang’s Le Quy Don Senior High School for Gifted Students recently won a silver medal at the 26th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) which took place in Denmark from 12 - 19 July.

Hang will receive a Certificate of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee and a reward of 30 million VND from the city’s budget for her remarkable achievement at the international competition.

According to the school’s Headmaster, Mr Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Hang will also receive a warm welcome home on 22 July at the Da Nang International Airport from leaders of the city’s Department of Education and Training, her teachers, friends and family members.

Hang was one of 4 Vietnamese pupils competing in the 26th IBO, which is an annual competition for senior high school pupils aged under 20 from 70 countries and territories around the world.
