The 19th National Physics Olympiad for Students is taking place at Da Nang’s Duy Tan University (DTU) until 24 April.

It is being jointly organised by the Viet Nam Physics Association, the Viet Nam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Viet Nam Students' Association.

The 4-day contest aims to boost physics learning and research activities amongst students, and to encourage young talents to promote their capabilities and creativity.  This will, in turn, help to enhance the quality of physics teaching and learning programmes at universities and colleges nationwide.

Around 400 students in 49 teams from universities, academies and colleges across the country are participating in the contest.  They are competing in 3 main categories: doing exercises, conducting experiments, and answering multiple-choice questions.

The contest’s awards ceremony will be held on 24 April.
