On Wednesday, to mark the Viet Nam Science and Technology Day (18 May), Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh visited and extended his best wishes to the staff of the municipal Union of Science and Technology Associations.

Secretary Anh spoke highly of the great efforts of the union in working closely with its members to ensure their best performance, and enhancing the solidarity amongst employees involved in the local science and technology sector.  Thanks to this, the union has created favourable conditions for its members and employees to promote their intellectual property development, which helps to accelerate local industrialisation and modernisation.

The city leader said, “The Vietnamese Party and State are focusing on boosting the development of the science and technology sector in order to create even more motivation for the country’s progress.  Therefore, Da Nang’s leaders are always willing to create very favourable conditions for the union to operate effectively in the city”.

Mr Anh took the opportunity to ask the union to create more breakthroughs in the city’s progress in the years ahead.

During his visit on the same day to the municipal Department of Science and Technology, Mr Anh praised the department for its great efforts in ensuring the efficiency of state management activities in science and technology.

In addition, he stressed the need for the department to develop its innovative financial mechanisms for scientific and technological activities in order to create more new products which meet the demands of society.
