On Thursday, the Department of Education and Training and the Studying Promotion Association in Da Nang together honoured a total of 178 local outstanding pupils in the 2016 - 2017 academic year.

In particular, each of these pupils received a reward of one million VND, and a Vietnamese dictionary.

The honourees comprised 98 primary school, 57 junior high school and 23 senior high school pupils.  Many of them won prizes in the 2017 contests for excellent students and technical innovation contests at municipal, regional and national levels, and the National Phu Dong Sports. Meanwhile, the poor studious pupils became actively involved in local social welfare activities.

Addressing the event, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh praised all the honourees for their outstanding achievements during the academic year.  The city leader also asked them to continue their efforts to enhance their good moral qualities and good deeds in addition to studying well.
