Start-up knowledge introduced to senior high school pupils
A total of about 50 senior high school pupils in Da Nang were very eager to learn more about necessary business start-up skills at Thursday’s seminar entitled ‘Technology incubation and startups’.The event was jointly organised by the municipal Union of the Science and Technology Associations, and the Department of Science and Technology.
At the seminar, Mr Bui Phuoc Lai, the Head of the municipal Young Inventors’ Club, briefed the participants on his club’s remarkable achievements over recent years in researching and creating a large number of technological products.
Notable amongst the products are the visitor counter, facial recognition software, spatial geometry models, and programmable robots.
In particular, some creative ideas have been brought into startup projects, including the teaching software used in primary schools, and the automatic mushroom care system which is currently applied successfully at mushroom growing areas in Hoa Vang District.
In addition, the young participants were introduced to the city-launched scientific research and startup support programmes.
Accordingly, under the city’s existing instructions, enterprises, organisations and individuals engaged in technological research and innovations are totally eligible for support policies applicable to technology transfer, measurement activities, intellectual property rights, training activities, technological consultancy, and other assistance.
Moreover, projects, involved in bringing scientific and technological ideas to fruition, hi-tech applications, and incubation activities, can access loans at preferential, or even zero-percent interest rates, from the Da Nang Science and Technology Development Fund, or get credit from commercial banks through the city’s Credit Guarantee Fund.
Other scientific and technological tasks which are totally funded by the Da Nang Science and Technology Development Fund include the registration for intellectual property rights, and the commercialisation of scientific research works which have received high prizes at domestic and international events.
