Exciting entertainment activities for children during summer holiday
A wide range of exciting activities are being held for children during the summer holiday at the Museum of Da Nang, the Le Do Cinema, and the General Science Library.

In particular, local pupils visit the Museum of Da Nang free of charge on weekdays between 8.00am and 4.30pm.
Especially, they will have the opportunity to watch documentary films about historical figures and heroes such as heroic Vietnamese mother Nguyen Thi Thu in the ‘Trang Doi Huyen Thoai’ (Legendary Life) movie, late Mr Ho Nghinh in ‘Mot Tam Guong, Mot Tam Long’ (A Typical Example, A Kind Heart), Mr Muoi Khoi in ‘Nguoi Giu Lua’ (A Person Who Keeps the Fire Burning), Mrs Nguyen Thi Binh in ‘Nguoi Chau Gai Cụ Phan’ (a Niece of Mr Phan), and the late Vietnamese General Nguyen Van Thoai, also known as Thoai Ngoc Hau, in ‘Song Nui Khac Ten’ (Rivers and Mountains Remember His Name).
In addition, the Museum also organises a training course on how to become museum guides for children aged 7 years old and above. The 2-month course is priced at 200,000 VND per child, including documents and drinks. Participating in the course, children will have the chance to learn more about artifacts displayed at the museum, and practise necessary soft skills.
Also, a Summer Fair will take place at the Museum on Sunday 10 June. The fair will feature a ‘very young traders’ activity and traditional folk games.
At the ‘very young traders’ activity, each of children aged 6 years old and above will register to open a stall at the fair in order to sell or exchange such items as learning tools, children toys, textbooks, notebooks and food. Participation fee is 100,000 VND per stall.
Also at the fair, kids will take part in attractive folk games, including bag jumping, water carrying, ball throwing, dancing with bamboo poles, tug-of-war, and drum beating. Participation fee is 30,000 VND per child.
Moreover, a ‘Club of Skills’ programme will take place at the Museum twice a week from 17 June - 12 August between 8.30am and 10.30am daily. Participants will make cakes and spring rolls, and create products from colour papers and ice cream sticks at the fee of between 30,000 and 50,000 VND per child.
An ‘Energy’ programme to welcome the 2018-2019 academic year will be the final activity during the summer holiday at the Museum. The event will be held on 26 August at between 8.00am and 11.00am. Participation fee will fluctuate between 20,000 and 50,000 VND.
Participating pupils will become involved in installing guns, as well as decorating ‘ao dai’ (the Vietnamese traditional long dress), conical hats, and pottery products.
Apart from the Museum of Da Nang, local children can visit the General Science Library during their summer holiday to experience modern and eye-catching reading space. In addition to reading books, they can play chess and seahorse game.
In attempting to provide better services for readers, the library has spent over 60 million VND in total on adding 1,297 new books.
Between 2 June and 29 August, the Cinema and Film Distribution Centre are screening numerous films at the library at 9.30am on Wednesdays, and at 3.00pm on Saturdays. Included are ‘Khu Vuon Lap Lanh’ (Sparkling Gardern), ‘Bo Ga Con Vit’ (Father is Chicken, Son is Duck), ‘Chu Cho May’ (Robot Dog), ‘Truy Tim Rong Than’ (Looking for Dragon God), ‘Ky Bang Ha 4’ (Ice Age 4), and ‘Ech Con Sieu Quay’ (Naughty Frog).
A book fair will take place at the library from 21 - 24 June. As part of the event, a book-related story telling contest for primary school pupils across the city will be held.
Local children will have the opportunity to watch free movies at the Le Do Cinema, 46 Tran Phu, at 8.00am at weekends.
Moreover, the Cinema and Film Distribution Centre is screening numerous films for children at the SOS Children's Village, and in the communes of Hoa Nhon, Hoa Son, Hoa Ninh, Hoa Bac, Hoa Lien and Hoa Phu in Hoa Vang District, and in Lien Chieu and Son Tra districts.
