Bank-sponsored scholarships for poor pupils
In 2013, the Da Nang Study Encouragement Association and the city branch of the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) together entered into an agreement on granting annual scholarships for poor pupils across the city.

Under this agreement, 59 branches and representative offices of credit organisations across the city donate at least 3 million VND each annually in order to give scholarships to poor pupils. The donations are raised from their staff members.
Over the past 5 years, a total of nearly 3 billion VND has been raised from these organisations, and around 3,000 poor pupils have received scholarships, worth one million VND each.
Chairman of the municipal Study Encouragement Association Tran Dinh Lien highlighted the significance of this scholarship programme in helping poor pupils overcome their difficulties and continue pursuing their academic dreams.
