In detail, a project regarding the building of intelligent optical information for extremely large data network by Dr Nguyen Tan Hung will receive an aid of 5.7 billion VND.
The project aims to develop an intelligent optical information system capable of detecting and remedying such quality degradation factors as linear and nonlinear signals, monitoring and controlling the real-time network, and channel parameters to predict network faults, and fulfill other related tasks.
Dr Ngo Ngoc Tri-developed project on applying artificial intelligence in giving early warnings about power consumption by buildings in order to head towards sustainable development is offered a funding of 3.5 billion VND.
The objective of this project is to build an integrated forecasting model based on machine learning and super-discovery optimization algorithm in order to forecast energy consumption by buildings, enhance energy efficiency of electrical equipment, lighting systems and air conditioners in non-residential buildings, hereby saving energy and ensuring environmental protection towards sustainable development.
The 2 above-mentioned works have been amongst a list of 20 science and technology projects receiving funding totalling 124 billion VND from the Vingroup Innovation Foundation. They had been carefully selected from 200 entries nationwide.
The breakthrough projects are expected to bring many benefits to such important aspects as Big Data, biomedical science, genetics research, material science, smart traffic, Internet of Things, and image recognition among others.
Of the total funding, the highest amount assigned to a single project is 10 billionVND. It will be spent on salaries for project members along with domestic and international experts; the purchase of raw materials and tools; and the purchase of equipment for research, international publications and patent registrations.
Also, the Foundation will provide support for the introduction and practical application of research products, services and solutions; help register and protect patents for inventions and utility solutions; and seek investment when the project is finished to ensure the output of research projects.
