During their stay in Australia, the Da Nang visitors focused on enhancing bilateral exchanges and implementing the cooperation agreements with Australian partners.
On 9 August, within the framework of the working visit, representatives of the University of Da Nang (UDN) and the Monash University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on promoting transnational educational programmes, speeding up the bilateral exchanges of lecturers and students, jointly organising conferences and seminars, and deploying other cooperative missions.
On 14 August, the Da Nang delegation worked with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) on how to promote the training of high quality human resources and scientific and technological research, and develop international research and cooperation projects in service of building a smart city, especially the establishment of the Joint Technology and Innovation Research Centre in Da Nang.
The signing of a MoU on trilateral cooperation will be inked by the UTS, the UDN and the Da Nang administration in the coming time.
Furthermore, Da Nang will cooperate with RMIT, which is Australia’s largest tertiary institution, on organising training courses either in Da Nang or Australia for the city’s city public servants in the aspects of State management, creative entrepreneurship and innovation, and holding scientific research workshops right in the city.
Also, the Australian university will be encouraged to assist the city in training high quality human resources and high quality short-term training courses.
It is known that, in recent years, education has always been considered to be the priority aspect in the bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and Australia.
The city has entered into many cooperation agreements on high-quality human resource development for itself with such prestigious Australian tertiary establishments as the universities of Adelaide, Queensland, New South Wales, and Melbourne.
In recent years, those who have attended training courses in Australian has made up the highest proportion of the total study abroad scholarship recipients, under Da Nang’s High-quality Human Resources Development Project.
Up to now, a total of 169 beneficiaries from the project have been sent to Australia to pursue Doctorates, Master's and Bachelor’s degrees.
