Scholarships granted to 150 poor freshmen in Da Nang and Quang Nam
A total of 150 poor college students in their first year from Da Nang and the neighbouring province of Quang Nam, on Saturday, were granted scholarships worth over 1,5 billion VND in total.
The granting of scholarships was under the annual programme, entitled ‘Tiep suc den truong’ (Giving Strength to Students), which is run nationwide by the Ho Chi Minh City-headquartered Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper.
Though the scholarships are not worth much, the students should consider them an encouragement to overcome difficulty on their path of study in order to become helpful and responsible citizens in the future.
In addition, to celebrate its 15th founding anniversary, the Da Nang- Quang Nam branch of the ‘Giving Strength to Students’ Club also presented gifts, worth 10 million VND each, to university students, who received the scholarships in the previous years, for their outstanding academic achievements and active engagement in activities at schools and in the community.
