Over 260,000 pupils begin new school year
On Thursday morning, a total of more than 260,000 pupils from pre-schools to senior high schools across Da Nang started the new 2019 - 2020 academic year.

The opening ceremonies for the new school year at schools went on as usual with raising the national flag, singing the national anthem, reading the State President’s letter on the occasion, beating the drum, welcoming ceremonies for new school pupils, and a series of musical performances.
In particular, the city’s leaders attended the opening ceremonies at some schools.
In details, municipal Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia attended the opening ceremony for the new academic year at the Le Quy Don Senior High School for Gifted Pupils.
During the 2018-2019 academic year, the school’s pupils won numerous high prizes at municipal and national-level exams. The school was given emulation flags and Certificates of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee (PC) in recognition of its outstanding achievements in its teaching activities.
In the new academic year, the school will focus on furthering the professionalism of the school’s teaching staff and its academic environment, as well as promoting innovations in teaching methods.

A similar ceremony at the Nguyen Chon Junior High School in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Minh Ward was attended by municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri. This is the first academic year for the school. The construction of the school has helped to solve the overloading problems at the Nguyen Binh Khiem Junior High School in the same ward.
Also at the ceremony, the family of late Lieutenant General Nguyen Chon presented the school a statue of the talented general.

At the Hoa Vang Senior High School, municipal PC Chairman Huynh Duc Tho beat a drum to begin the new school year. The city leader also presented flowers to the Board of Directors of the school on the special occasion.
The school has a total of 1,241 pupils, and 87 teachers. During the new academic year, the school strives to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, raise the number of excellent pupils, and maintain its achievements of all pupils passing National High School Graduation Examination.

All teachers and pupils at the Hoa Bac Primary School in Hoa Vang District were very excited at the opening ceremony for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. The event was attended by municipal PC Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung. During the academic year, the school has enrolled 78 grade 1 pupils, including 26 Co Tu ones.
Also on the same day, municipal People’s Council Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung, and PC Vice Chairmen Le Trung Chinh and Tran Van Mien participated in the opening ceremonies at the Tran Dai Nghia and Do Dang Tuyen junior high schools and the Duc Tri Pre-school-Primary-Junior High School, respectively.
