Peter and his whole family then left for the USA and they settled down in this country. He had to experience hard days as living in a tiny house and working very hard to earn little money. These hard days have trained Peter Mach a strong-willed, brave and sentimental man.

Fortunately, the 48-year-old man has received active support from his good friends and teachers.

After getting his master's degree in Columbia, the Vietnamese-born America worked in finance.

Thanks to his ceaseless efforts, Peter has become CEO of Credit Suisse - one of the most prestigious investment banks in the USA. Besides, he has set up his own financial management company, and founded the AMA educational charity organisation to grant scholarships to poor students.

Since 2015, Peter Mach and his AMA organision have helped many poor students in higher education institutions based in Hue, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City continue to purchase their dream of studying.

Peter revealed he had thought about giving up studying to earn his living in his hard period. Luckily, his good friends and dedicated teachers had given him extra motivation to purchase his dream of studying.

The kind-hearted man remarked through giving a helping hand to soon-to-be- teachers, he can join forces with Vietnamese relevant agencies to improve the quality of education in Viet Nam.

Last December, Peter awarded scholarships, valued at 9.2 million VND each, to 125 students from the Da Nang-based University of Education.

Scholarships cover tuition fees for 4 years studying in universities, and other skills-training experience programmes.

Amongst the scholarship recipients, O Ri Ann, an ethnic minority student, said “This scholarship has great value for me. I will try my best to become a good teacher in the future”.
