Four startup projects in Da Nang have been named among 17 finalists for the Hult Prize Southeast Asia Regional 2020. They are Biochar, Rebo, Inno – 2ur, and Micway projects.

In details, the Biochar project is developed by a group of students from the Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy. Under the project, organic waste will be used to make Biochar products (organic fertilisers), BioFilter (used to treat odor and hydrogen sulfide emissions from livestock facilities) and BioRefresh (anti-humidity materials).

In addition, students from the city-based PFT University, and the city’s University of Economics, have successfully created a virtual reality Biology book entitled ‘REBO’ for senior high school pupils.

Their creation has a lot of graphics, mind maps and drawings, as well as minimalises numbers and letters. Therefore, as using REBO in the combination with the Biology textbook, students can easily learn and memorise the knowledge faster and longer. Besides, REBO has a chatbot application on Facebook Messenger chat platform. After each lesson, pupils can chat with this robot to review their lessons and knowledge.

Developed by students from the municipal University of Economics, the Inno - 2ur project aims to help people with mental disorders.

A group of students from the Da Nang University of Education have developed the MICWAY project on creating BIO-MS and BIO-MS1 probiotic products from quail droppings.

The final round of the Hult Prize Southeast Asia 2020 will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from 9 - 11 April. The two most outstanding startup projects will be selected to participate in the Startup Accelerator programme of Hult Prize.
