Not only does this annual make-or-break event fetch learners a high-school diploma but it also determines admission to universities and junior colleges nationwide.

Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet attended the honouring ceremony.

At the ceremony, a reward was presented to freshman Le Trong Hoang Minh with highest scores to be admitted to the UDN. He earned 28.9 out of 30 scores to enroll into the Faculty of high quality IT taught in Japanese at the University of Science and Technology, a member school of UDN.

Additionally, nine other top scorers who have been admitted to member schools of UDN along with seven others who have gained admission to UDN’s member schools for their good achievements at national and international competitions were also honoured.

Besides, 34 undergraduates who gained excellent academic results from the already-concluded 2019- 2020 school year also received rewards.

Also at the event, the municipal Study Encouragement Association-granted scholarships, worth 5 million VND each, went to 20 needy students who have permanent residence in the city so as to encourage them to pursue their academic dreams in this ongoing school year.

In a similarly supportive move, the Nam Long Group and Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper, both headquartered in HCM City, together granted a combined total of scholarships, valued at 5 million VND each, to UDN students financially struggling due to the negative impacts of the coronavirus crisis and recent devasting floods.

Likewise, scholarships worth 2 million VND each jointly funded by the Ha Noi-based Khoa Tri Co.,Ltd and the UDN’s Trade Union went to poor students who hail from Central Viet Nam.

UDN Director Assoc. Prof. PhD. Nguyen Ngoc Vu highly lauded the member schools for ensuring their successful enrollment season, regardless of numerous difficulties and challenges sparked by the coronavirus pandemic and the natural disasters.
