Included amongst the aspects are identity and online security, information and digital data, digital content creation and digital communication.
The ‘Coding for the Future with Google’ completely free project, sponsored by Google and implemented by the Mekong Community Development Centre with technical support from The Dariu Foundation, and aimed at equipping young children with basic knowledge about programming and developing creative thinking.
The highly practical project has shown that programming is not an impractical skill or dull subject for children, but can become useful and creative and prepare them for the future world of technology.
It has achieved the initial goal of nurturing dreams and a passion for computer science among young children, with all students completing the course being able to create their own coding products with Scratch programming language.
