Da Nang students win noticeable prizes at national science and technology contest
Two entries by Da Nang team recently won noticeable prizes at the 2021 National High School Science and Technology Contest, which was opened to all senior high school pupils across Viet Nam.
One focuses on conducing research into genetic characteristics of genes encoding receptors for SARS-CoV-2 in Vietnamese people, developed by 12th graders Nguyen Phu Quy from Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted and Vo Van Nguyen from Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School, won the third prize at the contest.
The other, which highlights the detection of genetic mutations related to congenital iris defects and building a toolkit for genetic and medical consultation, developed by 11th grader Dang Khanh Giang and 12th grader Chau Quang Hung from the Hoang Hoa Tham Senior High School, won the Prospect award.
The event took place in neighbouring Thua Thien- Hue Province from 24 to 27 March.
