Addressing his Thursday meeting with representatives from Viet Nam-based multinational FPT Corporation, one of Viet Nam's leading companies in the tech industry, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh highly appreciated the prestige and capacity of FPT in implementing projects, with a focus on investing in both technical and social infrastructure, thus helping driving Da Nang's growth.

The first two months of 2021 saw Da Nang's socio-economic development indexes rise by 6 - 10%. Despite some certain difficulties, the city authorities are always actively support businesses to handle their challenging issues, Chairman Chinh pledged.

Da Nang is seeking ways to restructure its economy, with a heed paid to developing such aspects as IT and high technology, rather than remaining completely dependent on tourism. In the time ahead, functional local bodies will widely publicise Da Nang’s master plans for major development, and implement investment attraction schemes.

In particular, Da Nang is looking forwards to boosting cooperation with FPT Corporation in digital transformation, and building databases serving its smart city building project. Surely, the municipal administration would create the most favourable possible conditions for Vietnamese tech giant to carry out projects in the city.

According to the leaders of the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, till date, the legal and planning procedures related to FPT-developed projects have almost been resolved.
Some difficulties in terms of site clearance are being handled so that the corporation can start the synchronous construction of technical infrastructure on its Da Nang FPT Technological Urban Area (FPT City Da Nang) project by late December 2021.

FPT Corporation CEO Nguyen Van Khoa said plans to develop a centralised IT zone at the FPT Complex and FPT Software Co., Ltd. have been submitted the Da Nang People's Committee for consideration. Environmental impact assessment reports on these developments have been completed.

In the aspect of education and training, FPT would like Da Nang government to facilitate it to access more land sources for the development of new educational projects in other parts of the city.

As for digital transformation, FPT proposed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the 2021 - 2025 period with Da Nang. Focus will be on piloting digital transformation in the healthcare sector, including the implementation of a smart hospital model at a district-level medical centre, connecting birth certificates with the electronic government system.

At the same time, FPT hopes to work together with Da Nang in such programmes as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, the upgrade of the Da Nang Data Centre and MAN network upgrading.
