A state-run Innovation Centre under the municipal Department of Science and Technology has been establised in the city following approval from the Da Nang government.

The centre is a business support incubator network, helping entrepreneurs, start-ups to grow in Da Nang, as well as enhance innovation across the city's key economic sectors, measure science and technology activities in the city in a bid to support the state management work of the Department of Science and Technology. In addition, the centre carries responsibility for managing and operating the city’s training space for start-ups.

In particular, the centre will provide support to carry out a project to develop the Da Nang innovative startup ecosystem to 2025, offer training and funding to enterprises and individuals to develop their products, help start-up businesses drive their innovations, as well as facilitate access to finance by improving access to investors for start-ups.

The Da Nang Innovation Centre will operate under Viet Nam’s national government’s Decree No. 54/2016/ND-CP dated June 14, 2016 on providing the mechanism of autonomy and self-management applicable to public science and technology organisations.
