The Department is offering four options for reopening schools in the context of COVID-19.

The first option will allow only 9th to 12th grade students to get back to in-person classes at school directly, the second will allow students in years 1, 9, 6 and 12 to go back to school, the third option will allow students in years 1, 6 and 9 to return the classroom, and the last one will allow schools to reopen to all pupils.

Mr Mai Tan Linh, the Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Education and Training, said that Da Nang’s reopening plan may change depending on prevailing circumstances in the city.

He remarked that the Department is giving thorough consideration to plans in order to reopen schools safely and mitigate disease spread as well as protect the safety of teaching staff and pupils while attending in-person classes.

Till date, 97% of the teachers at Da Nang’s schools have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and those have yet to get shots due to pregnancy, a medical condition and being out of the city.
