Da Nang pupils enter new academic year with virtual welcome programme

A total of more than 280,000 school pupils across Da Nang started a 2021 – 2022 academic year on Sunday, September 5, in a very special way with a virtual programme broadcast on the Da Nang TV at the same time with ceremonies to welcome in the new school year in other localities.

The TV talk show named 'Da Nang - Welcome in the new school year' held by the Department of Education and Training was aired at 7:00 am on the Da Nang TV channel.

In particular, municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh-extended best wishes to educational officials, employees, teachers and pupils across the city on this special occasion was highlighted at this TV programme.

This programme was followed by the opening ceremonies of the new academic year held by schools citywide and virtual meetings between homeroom teachers and pupils of different grades.

Although these aforementioned events were conducted in an online format, teachers still made efforts to give students an exciting start to the new school year.

According to the municipal Department of Education and Training, during the 2021 – 2022 school year, the whole city has 288,600 pupils, of whom 71,280 are in preschools, whilst 217,320 in primary schools, 72,320 in junior high schools and 35,745 in senior high schools.
