A seminar on speeding up the application of virtual reality (VR) technology in the development of the science and technology market took place in Da Nang on October 29.

Hosted by the municipal Department of Science and Technology, the event introduced attendees to the city's support policies for science and technology market development activities, as well as to the current development status of VR technology in Da Nang, in Viet Nam and in the world.

According to the Department, in the coming time, the Da Nang Innovative Startup Support Centre will boost the application of VR technology in helping research institutes, schools and businesses, especially science and technology enterprises and startups, introduce their products and technologies in a virtual environment.

Also, the Centre will cooperate with business and industry associations to organize VR exhibitions on digital platforms in the city. VR technology enables sales teams to immerse their clients in environments where they can interact with a product.

During the seminar, participants were informed about the Da Nang Startup and Innovation Festival (SURF) 2021, the biggest annual international startup conference and exhibition in Central Viet Nam, which will go virtual in November.

The upcoming event expects to feature to 70- 80 startup booths developed by startups, science and technology enterprises, universities, junior colleges, incubators, and co-working spaces in Da Nang and other parts in Central Viet Nam.
