According to the Quality Management Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, Viet Nam currently has seven higher education institutions that meet the international quality standards.

They are the University of Science and Technology (Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City), the University of Science and Technology (University of Da Nang, the Ha Noi University of Science and Technology, the University of Civil Engineering, the University of Natural Sciences (Ha Noi National University), the Ton Duc Thang University, and the International University (Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City).

The aforementioned universities were among the newly –released list of higher education institutions, colleges and pedagogical intermediate schools that have completed self-assessment reports and have been accredited.

Besides, there are 174 higher education institutions, pedagogical colleges recognised to meet the domestic standards.
