Da Nang senior high school teacher contracts COVID-19; some classes go virtual
The Tran Phu Senior High School in Da Nang turned four in-person classes into online ones on Wednesday after a teacher of English had confirmed as a COVID-19 patient, the Principal of the school announced.
The school’s COVID-19 response team has advised students to closely monitor their health, with a heed paid to notifying the nearest medical agency if they display some suspicious symptoms such as cough, fever and difficulty breathing.
Functional forces are racing against time to track down as many close contacts with this coronavirus-infected teacher as possible in a move to prevent further spreading of the virus in the community.
Other teachers who are identified as primary contacts are allowed to stay at home and operate online classes as usual. Meanwhile, their students are required to go to school for these virtual academic sessions with the connection with them through assistive devices available in classrooms.
In addition, students can still bring such devices as smart phones and tablets during these virtual classes.
it is known that 10th and 11th grades across Da Nang have returned to school for in-person classes since November 29.
Up to now, local senior high school students have mostly been received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
