Da Nang Social Security accelerates digital transformation

To improve service quality and meet people's satisfaction, the Da Nang Social Security has exerted extra efforts in promoting digital transformation and the Information Technology (IT) application so as to bring social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance policies to residents in a quick and convenient manner.

Many positive results achieved

According to Head of the IT Department of the municipal Social Security Le Nho Man, his unit has provided 25 online public services on the Viet Nam Social Security’s Public Service Portal and 15 others on its portal which have also been incorporated into the National Public Service Portal, including 2 online payment public services.

Also, 100% of employers in Da Nang have carried out e-transactions in the fields of social insurance and health insurance.

In addition, the use of chip-based citizen identification cards and VNeID app to replace paper health insurance cards for medical examinations and treatment has been effectively implemented.

As of October 17, 72 medical facilities citywide used digital citizen ID cards to look up information on health insurance cards for 94,162 cases, of which 77,237 were successfully searched for medical examination and treatment services covered by chip-based ID cards.

A total of 563,734 social insurance and health insurance card holders in the city registered e-transaction accounts on the Public Service Portal of the Viet Nam Social Security and the VssID - Digital social security - app.

The VssID app has upgraded more features and utilities to flexibly serve the essential information needs of participants and beneficiaries of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance policies.

According to Director of the Da Nang Social Security Dinh Van Hiep, thanks to the good implementation of the digital transformation plan and IT application, the unit is highly appreciated in public administration reforms and IT application. It wa ranked first in IT application and administrative reform in 2019 and 2020 by the municipal People's Committee.

Bringing great convenience to people

Often going to the Ngu Hanh Son District-based Medical Centre for examination and treatment, but in recent months, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong, 37, residing in Hoa Hai Ward has used a chip-based citizen ID card to replace a paper health insurance card and medical examination book for medical checkups.

“I find it very convenient to integrate the health insurance card into the ID card. Looking up information with a chip-based card helps me not to carry as many documents as before, reducing a lot of waiting time” added Mrs. Hong.

Director of Ngu Hanh Son District-based Medical Centre Nguyen Van Dung highlighted the convenience of the use of digital citizen ID cards for medical facilities in saving a lot of time taken for recording and completing medical records, and ensuring information quickly and accurately.

Mr. Dinh Van Hiep emphasised that in the coming time, the city’s Social Security will continue to promote the management, exploitation, use and preservation of IT programmes; and regularly update new versions of professional software of the Viet Nam Social Security to ensure that the software works smoothly, meeting the professional requirements of the professional departments and the district-level social insurance agencies.

Heed will be on researching professional software of the industry in order to promptly propose and recommend to adjust and perfect the software, promoting data mining on centralised data systems, and taking IT solutions to improve the quality of management and professional activities.
