Currently, COVID-19 has been brought under control in Da Nang. However, there is still a risk of COVID-19 increasing again if effective prevention and control measures are not taken. Therefore, schools citywide have prioritised educating parents about the importance of vaccinations for their children.

Most recently, the Tay Son Secondary School in collaboration with the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Hoa Cuong Bac Ward have offered the 1st and 2nd doses of vaccines against COVID-19 to its pupils. Photo: QUOC CUONG

After a period of finding out information, Mr. Vo Dai Thanh Nam, 46, residing in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, realised the importance of vaccines in the prevention and control of COVID-19. Therefore, he took his child to the mobile injection station at the Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School based in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Mr. Nam expressed that getting his child vaccinated early gives him some peace of mind, protecting the health of his child and the community.

45-year-old Ho Thi Be, who is a mother of Pham Ho Anh Tuan - 5th grader of the Phan Phu Tien Prime School, took her son to get vaccinated at the mobile injection site of the Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School.

Mrs. Be shared “At first, I was quite confused between whether to give my child the Covid-19 vaccine or not, but after understanding the importance of vaccines, I decided to give my son injections”.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hue, the Headmistress of the Nguyen Thuong Hien Senior High School, her school has paid special attention to widely publicizing masks, disinfection, and vaccinations, through its information channels. Homeroom teachers constantly update information about pupils' injection schedules.

Most recently, the school in collaboration with the Lien Chieu District-Health Centre has offered vaccinations to its staff, teachers and pupils.

In order to speed up the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines to pupils across the city, the municipal Department of Health has recently coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications to organize a conference to share and publicise about vaccinations among officials of departments, agencies, sectors and localities.

At the same time, the Department of Health has partnered with the Department of Education and Training to hold meetings with parents to answer questions about COVID-19 vaccinations, helping they understand more about the importance of vaccines.

In the latest message, the Ministry of Health called on people to fully and timely receive the COVID-19 vaccine, combining ‘medicine - treatment - technology – awareness’. Therefore, parents are encouraged to have their children vaccinated against COVID-19 to ensure the health of children and those around them.
