The Da Nang Department of Information and Communications announced on Monday the addition of ‘Rainfall Monitoring’ feature to its Danang Smart City app.

The new feature gives users the ability to view precisely how much rain fell on each area in order to take timely measures to respond to extreme weather events.

At the app, rain measurement data is extracted directly and online in real time at 31 rainfall monitoring sites across the city. With measured rainfall indices, the app will work with the city's switchboard 1022 to provide warnings and instructions for residents to promptly respond to extreme weather events.

In addition, residents can view the measured rainfall with full annotation, differentiated by colour levels.
