Solutions to develop Da Nang startup ecosystem highlighted at a scientific seminar

A scientific seminar entitled ‘Consultation on the incubation process of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Centre’ took place in the city on Friday.

Organised by the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, the event saw the participation of many experts, founders, investors, and incubators in the field of innovative start-up.

Speaking at the conference, Dr. Le Duc Vien, the Director of the municipal Department of Science and Technology, said that in recent years, Da Nang has made great efforts to develop an innovative startup ecosystem, as well as issue mechanisms and policies to create a favorable environment and legal basis to support startups.

In particular, in 2022, the department has been providing financial assistance for 2 businesses to complete start-up products; and for 2 business incubators and 1 educational institution. Also it has approved the financial aid for 29 innovative startup projects under its incubation programmes.

This seminar aimed to exchange, discuss and give suggestions to improve the incubation process of Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Centre.

Presentations at the event focused on an overview of the city's startup ecosystem, the current situation and some solutions to improve the effectiveness of one-on-one consulting for startup projects, start-up experience from the story of the Da Nang Entrepreneurship Support (DNES), the current situation of EM and AI startups, and proposals for developing the city's startup ecosystem .

The event also highlighted the vital role of universities in providing human resources, and the importance of infrastructure, and support mechanisms, for start-ups, in developing a sustainable startup ecosystem and increase its competitiveness in the region.

Besides, many solutions for promoting the strong development of the city's startup ecosystem in the near future were presented at the event.
