157 high school pupils compete in national science and technology innovation contest 2022
The Da Nang Youth Union and the Viet Nam-UK Institute for Research & Executive Education, on Sunday, launched a national science and technology innovation contest for senior high school pupils (U-Invent 5).
Themed ‘Technology Innovation for a Healthy City’, the contest attracts 157 pupils of 37 teams from 18 senior high schools in provinces and cities throughout the country.
During the 3-month contest, the participating teams compete in ‘solution’ and ‘test sample’ rounds to select 15 outstanding teams for semi-finals and top 7 teams for finals. The final round of the contest is scheduled for January 8, 2023.
They have the opportunity to work with a team of advisors who are lecturers and experts, as well as participate in weekly training sessions on design thinking, and communication and presentation skills.
U-Invent 5 aims to encourage, inspire and incubate projects to develop Viet Nam's urban areas in a healthy, dynamic, friendly and smart direction. Also, the contest helps contestants develop creative thinking and nurture their passion for science, technology, and engineering, thereby promoting entrepreneurship and a sense of community service.
