60 businesses in Da Nang trained on digital transformation capacity enhancement

A training session, held the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications on Saturday morning offered effective ways to improve digital transformation capacity for businesses in Da Nang in a bid to help them boost their digital transformation.

Addressing the event, Director of the National Digital Transformation Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications Nguyen Khac Lich said that, the digital transformation potential for of local businesses is huge, given successful application, it will create economic efficiency.

Currently, digital transformation solutions have been applied in many cities and provinces. If business owners clearly understand the urgency, nature of digital transformation, develop methods and roadmap, pour more investment in infrastructure and technology suitable to the size and type of business, they will be able to catch up with the new mainstream trend.

Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications Tran Ngoc Thach also introduced to the participating businesses to guidelines, policies, platforms, applications and solutions from the central and local governments to support digital transformation for businesses in recent years.

Da Nang eyes a target that on digital economy will account for at least 20% of the city's GRDP, of which the information and communication technology (ICT) industry will make up for at least 10% of the city's GRDP by 2025, with and the ratio of 3 digital technology businesses/1,000 people. Also, there are at least 5 digital technology enterprises in the city generate a revenue of over VND 1,000 billion/year or contribute over VND 100 billion /year to the state budget by 2025.

The ‘Digital higher education’ model will be implemented on a trial basis at the Viet Nam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology. There are at least 75,000 IT and digital transformation employees working in digital economy development.

Chairman of BKAV Technology Group Nguyen Tu Quang affirmed that digital transformation is an indispensable need for businesses to develop in the current period. For today's digital transformation, it is highly necessary to use platforms which are powerful utility tools that are available and can be configured to meet new needs and do not need to be programmed.

Different from traditional computerisation, digital transformation is data-centric, which is ready to explode in performance to meet the endless needs of customers.

According to Mr. Quang, digital transformation is the process of total and comprehensive change of individuals and organisations based on digital technology.

For digital transformation, it takes the perseverance and determination of the leaders of businesses. Enterprise digital transformation starts from computerisation first with shared platforms such as accounting, HRM and eMail or the computerisation of specialised operations using platforms. Businesses need to invest in new technology such as using surveillance cameras and using QR codes to manage.

The enterprise digital transformation roadmap includes Chain platform - Industrial operations - New technology - Building a data warehouse.
