Da Nang student wins first prize at National Chinese Speaking Contest 2022

Student Nguyen Thi Luong from the University of Foreign Language Studies, the University of Da Nang, won the first prize at the National Chinese Speaking Contest 2022.

Thirty contestants competed in eloquence on the topic of youth's role in national construction and development within 6 minutes in the final round of the contest which took place on Thursday at the University of Foreign Language Studies. Top 6 finalists continued to compete for the First, Second and Third prizes.

In the end, Hoang Thai Son from the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, and Nguyen Thi Thu Xuyen from the Hai Phong University, took the second prizes. In addition, the organisers awarded 3 third and 24 consolation prizes to the remaining contestants.

The contest was launched from September 15 - October 31. After 1.5 months of launching, the contest’s organisers received 205 entries of entrants from 25 universities, academies, Chinese language centers, the Unions of Friendship Organisations and the Viet Nam - China Friendship Associations in 20 provinces and cities across the country.

According to the municipal Union of Friendship Organisations, the contest is one of the important people-to-people diplomacy activities, aiming to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Viet Nam-China diplomatic ties (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2023). It helps to promote cultural exchanges, and contribute to strengthening solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the people of China and Da Nang in particular, and Viet Nam in general.

Besides, the intention of the contest is to uphold the high sense of responsibility, patriotism and national pride in the youth generation, nurture their ambitions and aspirations for national construction, and raise their awareness of their missions and responsibilities in national construction and defence.
