Most recently, he has been one of three teachers in Da Nang to be honoured with the third Outstanding Young Teachers Awards.

Organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), the awards aim to honour teachers who have achieved many remarkable achievements in teaching and scientific research, and have set shining examples for students to follow.

Over the years, Dr. Dat is the main author and co-author of 25 research works published in prestigious national and international journals.

Currently, he is named among top 50 economic researchers in Viet Nam according to Research Papers in Economics (RePEc). This project aims to increase the dissemination of research in economics and related sciences. RePec evaluates economic organisations worldwide based on some quantitative criteria such as the number of scientific/research articles, the IF index and the number of citations of published publications.

According to Dr. Dat, in order to have articles published in prestigious journals, the most important thing is to choose a suitable research topic, then connect with overseas researchers for data support.

As the role of Secretary of the Youth Union organisation of the University of Da Nang, Mr. Dat has directed the affiliated units to organise many meaningful volunteer activities, including the monthly ‘Green Sunday’ programme at the campus of the units, Da Nang beaches and in residential areas, and the Volunteer Saturday Programme.

At the same time, he has coordinated with clubs, teams, groups and affiliates to organise charity activities at child protection centers and centers for people with revolutionary merits in the city.

Every year, he participates in the summer volunteer campaign for Da Nang students. In 2022, the campaign attracted 1,000 volunteers  to give gifts to children in remote and mountainous areas in Kon Tum, Quang Ngai, and Quang Nam provinces, and communes of Hoa Bac and Hoa in Da Nang’s Hoa Vang District.

In order to ensure the efficiency of publicity activities, Dat has worked closely with units to integrate and organise many free programmes to publicise cultural lifestyle, urban civilisation, and traffic order and safety.

Also, heed has been on regularly organising startup activities and events for students, aiming to help them have more job opportunities.

He has also proposed the establishment of English and foreign language clubs at the units. He has made great efforts to organise the Viet Nam - Laos Cultural Festival, and the Festival of clubs and groups to introduce the cultural features of the countries.

To further promote the spirit of youth and volunteering, dare to think and dare to do, Dat plans to organise more volunteer and social welfare activities for community life in the coming time, attracting more students to participate in.
