After 4 years of organization, the Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador Contest has affirmed its role and influence, and contributed to spreading reading culture in the city.

The confirmation was made by Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Hoi An at the closing and awards ceremony of the Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2022 on Sunday.

Deputy Director Hoi An said that this year’s contest was co-organised by the department and the Department of Education and Training. Since its official launch in February, the contest’s organisers received a total of nearly 39,000 entries from students at all levels citywide.

On the basis, the municipal Department of Education and Training and the district-level Offices of Education and Training selected and sent 301 outstanding entries to the city-level Jury Council for the final round of judging. In which, top 45 contestants with the best quality entries were selected to attend the interview round at the Da Nang General Science Library on June 25.

As a result, three contestants were awarded the title of ‘Ambassador of Reading Culture’, and 27 others received consolation prizes at the contest. Also, six collective prizes went to schools with many participants.

Authorized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the contest’s organisers awarded two B, two C and one consolation prizes to five Da Nang students who won prizes at the Ministry-hosted Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2022.

Additionally, the Da Nang General Science Library donated 5 bookcases to schools whose students won prizes at the ministerial-level contest.
