Promoting active and sustained school-business partnerships
According to the University of Science and Technology (DUT), the University of Da Nang, the bilateral cooperation with businesses, including foreign partners, has contributed to ensuring the operational efficiency of high-quality joint training programmes such as: the Program for Training Engineers of Excellence in Viet Nam (PFIEV) between Viet Nam and France, and the joint programme between Viet Nam and Japan (3+2).
Since 2020, DUT has offered a specialized training programme in aviation mechanics in order to provide human resources for the Sunshine Aerospace components plant based in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park. In addition, the two sides have built an aeronautical engineering laboratory, facilitating DUT students to have full modern facilities for study and research.
In November, 2022, DUT signed a cooperation agreement with the Fujikin Corporation, Japan, to implement an international project on building the Fujikin Danang R&D Center. As a result, it is the first university to participate in an FDI project, as a reliable partner of investors, taking the role of joint scientific research, technology transfer, production and commercialization of products, and recruitment of human resources.
Also in the same month, the Mitsubishi Electric Vietnam handed over the sponsored practice equipment package, totalling more than VND1 billion, to the university.
Similarly, promoting cooperation with businesses, especially with Japanese partners, is one of the key tasks set by the city-based Dong A University.
Over recent years, the university has built internship and work programmes in Japan with such its major partners as Will Group, CUC and Tenshinkai for students majoring in nursing, automotive engineering, tourism, and construction.
Over the past time, the Da Nang University of Technical Education has been an active and core member of international projects, including V2WORK, MONTUS, EMVITET, MESFIA, ERAMUS+ and PHER. Besides foreign partners, the university has promoted cooperation with domestic enterprises.
In 2022, the University of Technical Education inaugurated its digital transformation research and training room. The construction cost of the room was VND 10 billion funded by the Nam Long Technology Investment Group.
In a similar vein, the Viet Nam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) cooperated with the Nix Education Company to provide a training programme for IT engineers. In addition, trainees were provided with free Japanese course.

Meeting high-quality human resources
According to managers, the business-school partnerships benefit both sides in the fields of research and development.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Quang Vinh, the Rector of the University of Science and Technology, acknowledged that the university-business cooperation has helped businesses to solve their problems and further improve the proportion of science, technology and innovation in the production and business activities, and the schools to enhance the quality of training in order to provide high-quality human resources for society and for businesses themselves.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Cao Tho, the Rector of the University of Technical Education, also said that the cooperation projects between businesses and schools, especially in the construction of laboratories, have greatly supported students in learning, scientific research and practice, and accessing to the most modern technology being applied at leading companies and corporations in the world.
According to Mr. Luong Minh Sam, Chairman of the Dong A University Council, the cooperation with Japanese businesses has opened up more internship and job opportunities for its students.
Till date, the Dong A University has sent more than 200 students to Japan to study and work in 15 training disciplines. It is now preparing a roadmap for 300-500 students to be able to come to Japan each year from 2025.
Aside from Japan, the university is expanding the job market and internship opportunities in domestic enterprises as well as corporations in Germany and Taiwan (China).
