The Da Nang-based Dong A University launched the Innovation Startup Contest 2023 for Students on Saturday.

This year's contest attracts 42 startup projects from groups with 167 members who are the university’s students in 17 specialised faculties.

Participating teams compete in three rounds: problem finding, problem development and final round. The prize value is up to more than VND50 million.

During the contest, they are provided with startup methods and knowledge, as well as receive active support in developing ideas and completing their projects from the advisory board made up of members from startup support centres, business incubators, and domestic start-ups.

Also, the team are facilitated to call for capital and investment, and commercialise products, for projects that are evaluated as promising in terms of application level and high feasibility.

After the launching ceremony, the participating teams immediately took part in training sessions on entrepreneurship, and improving skills to call for capital, and present and negotiate with experts to prepare conditions for the next rounds.
